Amazing Aaron Rodgers gesture shows he still loves Packers
Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers always seemed destined for a messy breakup, but that doesn't change his love for the team.
Rodgers was placed in the awkward position of watching the Packers trade up for his successor. He handled it well, never taking it out on Jordan Love, and instead building a good relationship with his eventual replacement.
He understood what Love was going through, having been in his position before.
Rodgers won consecutive MVP awards, ensuring he remained the QB1 in Green Bay. But after a disappointing 2022 season, the Packers decided to move on, and Rodgers opted for a trade to the New York Jets.
Like many other Hall-of-Fame quarterbacks who switched teams late in their career, Rodgers didn't get the fairytale ending of playing for one team and walking off into the sunset after bringing the Lombardi Trophy home.
But he still loves the team, the fans, and the city.
That much was evident in his gesture to the newest member of the Packers' quarterback room.
Packers fans will love this gesture from Aaron Rodgers to rookie QB
Aaron Rodgers' departure opened the door for Jordan Love to take the reins as the new QB1, but it also created an opening at the backup position.
The Packers drafted Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford in the fifth round. Not only is he the newest quarterback in the room, but he also received Rodgers' old locker.
And Rodgers is well aware of that. He sent Clifford the perfect housewarming gift, a signed Rodgers jersey. Clifford tweeted a photo of the gift, and you can read Rodgers' words to the rookie quarterback.
Rodgers wrote: "Sean - Welcome to GB! Enjoy that great city & my locker!"

How cool is that?
Rodgers may now lead the New York Jets' offense, but he still holds a close connection with the Packers and always will.
Whether Rodgers plays one season or multiple in New York, he is forever a Packer. When he retires, it won't be long before he is welcomed back to Green Bay and inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame. We can also safely assume that no player will ever wear a No. 12 jersey again in Green Bay.
Rodgers and Clifford may not be teammates, but it's amazing to see the gift and welcome to Green Bay from one of the greatest to ever do it.
