Bengals players can't stop praising Jordan Love after Packers joint practice
The Green Bay Packers participated in a joint practice with the Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday, and several Bengals players were impressed with Jordan Love.
This is becoming a common theme. Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay spoke highly of Love after playing against him last season.
Now, Love has earned the respect of multiple Bengals defensive players after the joint practice.
"I think he's going to be a great player, to be honest. I think he learned from A-Rod, learned some stuff. Now he gets the keys to run the system," said Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt, according to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
Pratt wasn't the only Bengals defender impressed with what they saw from Love.
Cornerback Mike Hilton intercepted a pass from Love, but he still had nothing but praise for the Packers' new starting quarterback.
"Real strong arm. Obviously that's what he's been known for, but you can tell," said Hilton, per The Athletic's Matt Schneidman. "He's seeing things a little slower and his process is a little faster, so I feel like Green Bay got a good one."
It's one thing for Love to receive praise from his Packers teammates -- they are hardly going to say anything different -- but opponents are consistently complimenting his play.
Jordan Love showing promise at Packers training camp
'Inconsistent' best describes Jordan Love's performances in the opening weeks of camp, but he has also shown a lot of promise. Love hasn't made many big mistakes. He isn't turning the ball over frequently.
But the "wow" plays are there. Regularly.
"He never looked rattled. Aside from the receiver-screen-turned-interception, Love kept the football out of harm's way," said Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated on Love's performance in the joint practice.
The Packers will hope for more consistency from Love and the offense, but this will come in time as they play together for longer. Green Bay has an incredibly young and inexperienced receiving corps, while Love only has one career start to his name.
But the potential is there, and Love is earning more fans by the day. That now includes the Bengals.
