Washington Commanders free agent Kendall Fuller is a tricky one to break down, because he was part of an absolute catastrophe on defense last year. The Commanders were dead last in pass defense in 2023, but Fuller was the lone bright spot.
It is pretty fair to say that, even when looking at his passer rating allowed and touchdowns allowed (9 per Pro Football Reference) that he shouldn't be faulted for the majority of negatives. The Commanders traded their two star pass rushers and that unit didn't have a lick of talent outside of Fuller or maybe Kamren Curl.
Fuller is known as one of the more underrated corners in the league, already, and last year's numbers shouldn't be counted against him. He was essentially playing on an island last season. The Commanders defense was bottom-5 on third down, too, meaning teams knew they could have success against this team when they had to pass.
Per Spotrac, Fuller is projected to get in the neighborhood of a 4-year deal worth $54.5 million.
