The Green Bay Packers focused on helping Jordan Love on the second day of the draft by selecting tight ends Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft and wide receiver Jayden Reed.
With their fourth-round pick, the Packers addressed another major need on the defensive side of the ball with Auburn defensive lineman Colby Wooden.
Wooden can play defensive tackle, and some viewed him as an edge rusher. That versatility will make him a valuable addition to Joe Barry's defense. Wooden will mostly play as an interior defensive lineman in Green Bay, and he adds a ton of pass-rush potential to the Packers' defense.
Pressuring quarterbacks was an issue for the Packers last season. They struggled to consistently force quarterbacks to hurry. With the addition of Lukas Van Ness in the first round, Colby Wooden in the fourth, and the return of Rashan Gary this season, the defense is trending in the right direction.
Let's look at some of the best reactions to the Packers' fourth-round pick.

Kenny Clark, TJ Slaton, and Devonte Wyatt are the only DTs with any NFL experience on the #Packers roster.

Adding Colby Wooden here filled a serious need, and I think it was a very solid value.
Really like the pick of Colby Wooden for Green Bay at 116. Overall player 93 for me with a round three grade.

Manβ¦ if Colby Wooden wouldnβt have been moved to Edge last season he is not sitting their for GB today.

Happy to hear GB is letting him go home to DT.
Colby Wooden was drafted with pick 116 of round 4 in the 2023 draft class. He scored a 9.24 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 124 out of 1620 DT from 1987 to 2023. https://t.co/NjH1qPf5F0 pic.twitter.com/WUbcWaybA6

Colby Wooden feels like solid value in the mid-4th round. Athletic and versatile player. Can play outside and inside.

Just based on what I gathered so far Colby Wooden seems he could be monster for Green Bay. I'm really, really excited about this pick π₯

Green Bay needed to add talent to the defensive line this offseason following the departure of starters Jarran Reed and Dean Lowry in free agency. It won't be a surprise if Wooden starts immediately alongside Kenny Clark and Devonte Wyatt.
The Packers still have a lot of draft picks to come. They have selected five players so far, two on defense and three on offense. Barring any more trades, they are set to make another eight selections. That includes two fifth-rounders, two sixths, and four sevenths. A great opportunity to add depth.
Green Bay could also package some Day 3 selections to move up for a player it likes. Maybe another wide receiver or defensive tackle to improve depth at those positions. The Packers have options.
