There was concern for Christian Watson at the end of Wednesday's practice.

According to various reports, Watson landed awkwardly on the final play and stayed down for two minutes. Per Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, his teammates took a knee around him.

However, it appears Watson has avoided a significant injury. Wood added that the former second-round pick walked off the field on his own power.

The last thing the Green Bay Packers need is to lose Watson, who is such an integral part of Matt LaFleur's offense. When he is healthy, this team can reach new heights. Fortunately, it sounds like Watson avoided a serious injury.

Christian Watson puts two thumbs up after suffering injury at Packers practice

Wood posted a video of Watson walking off the field. He looked relatively comfortable, with only a small limp, and flashed two thumbs up to the camera. That's an encouraging sign that he is OK.

"Watson was rubbing his left hip," reports The Athletic's Matt Schneidman. "Seems to be something on his left leg that's banged up. He seems to be OK as practice ends."

Watson has struggled to stay healthy in his first two seasons but is hoping his ongoing hamstring issues are in the past after seeing a specialist at UW-Madison this offseason. When he is 100 percent, the entire offense reaches another level.

It's always concerning when a player goes down and takes a while to get to their feet. Many feared the worst while Packers players took a knee. Fortunately, Watson looks OK, suggesting he may have just landed awkwardly. It's something to monitor ahead of the preseason opener.

The Packers may hold him out of practice if there are any short-term concerns, but Watson seems to have avoided a significant injury, which is a huge relief.
