David Bakhtiari's time with the Green Bay Packers has come to an end.

While it was expected, it's still a sad moment. Bakhtiari embodied everything it meant to be a Packer and produced years of elite-level play protecting Aaron Rodgers at left tackle. Bakhtiari earned five consecutive All-Pro honors in Green Bay, and only a significant injury could prevent him from building on his Hall-of-Fame resume.

His departure was inevitable this offseason. The Packers would've had to take on a $40 million cap hit for the final year of his deal, which they will halve by moving on.

Bakhtiari posted an emotional message on social media saying goodbye to Packers fans.

Packers release David Bakhtiari: All-Pro tackle sends emotional message to fans

Bakhtiari took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal his time in Green Bay is coming to an end. He thanked Packers fans with this emotional post:

Bakhtiari thanked the fans and his family, adding that he is "so damn proud."

And he should be. Bakhtiari went from a fourth-round pick to a five-time All-Pro with a Hall-of-Fame resume. The only thing missing was a Lombardi Trophy, which Bakhtiari came close to achieving with the Packers.

It truly was a remarkable run in Green Bay. He shut down the league's best pass rushers on a weekly basis and was an unsung hero in Aaron Rodgers' MVP run in 2024. Without Bakhtiari, the Packers may have never reached the NFC Championship Game that season.

What's next for Bakhtiari? Only time will tell.

He is still one of the league's top pass protectors when healthy. He proved that in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears last season. Despite not practicing all week, Bakhtiari played like he had never missed any time. If he continues his NFL career, several teams should have interest in his services.

Whatever comes next for Bakhtiari, all of Packers Nation is behind him.

Thank you, David Bakhtiari.
