It never gets any easier.

You would think after watching Brett Favre, Greg Jennings, Za'Darius Smith, and countless other former Packers swap green and gold for Vikings purple, we would have gotten used to it.

Apparently not.

Aaron Jones is the latest Packers fan favorite to become a division rival. He stood and watched from the sideline in the Vikings' preseason opener in a stadium he has enjoyed a ton of success for Green Bay.

Packers fans, you might want to look away.

Aaron Jones wearing Vikings colors just doesn't feel right

Jones didn't play in the first preseason game, but he watched from the sideline in Vikings gear. And it hurts.

Jones will one day go into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, and it's a real shame he wasn't able to spend his entire NFL career with the team that drafted him. It's not Jones' fault. The Packers asked him to take a pay cut two seasons in a row, and he declined. Fair enough.

Like many other Packers star players, he decided to get revenge.

Green Bay moves forward with Josh Jacobs leading the backfield, which is great. For a moment, we got to dream of the possibility of a Jacobs-Jones combination. In reality, it was never going to happen, as the Packers only pivoted to Jacobs once they realized they wouldn't be able to agree on a contract restructure with Jones.

General manager Brian Gutekunst made a decision he believes helps the team, and that's why he's in the job and not us. He has to make the tough decisions on when to move on from players.

We can be excited about Jacobs but also miss Jones at the same time. Both can be true.

And we will never get used to watching Jones wearing Vikings gear.
