George Kittle takes an unnecessary shot at Packers after playoff loss

Kittle is channeling his inner-Bears fans and it's a little excessive.

It's unusual to root for a division rival in the NFC Championship Game, but George Kittle's latest comments will make Green Bay Packers fans cheer on the Detroit Lions this week.

Kittle caught four passes for 81 yards and a touchdown in the San Francisco 49ers' divisional-round victory over the Packers.

But it was nowhere near as one-sided as most of the national media predicted—quite the opposite. The Packers weren't just in the game until the end. They should've won. Green Bay failed to put San Francisco away despite having multiple chances, ultimately paying the price late in the fourth quarter.

Despite almost getting eliminated by the seventh seed at home, Kittle decided to dunk on the Packers during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.

It does seem bizarre that after stumbling into the NFC Championship Game and getting outplayed by the lowest seed in the conference, Kittle would take a victory lap on the Packers.

Pat McAfee joked about co-host and former Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk saying "f-ck" live on air. Kittle took this as a moment to take a shot at the Packers.

"The only time I heard him say it was when the Packers lost to the Niners again," said Kittle. "Go Pack go the f-ck home."

Kittle was having fun, but it's still a disrespectful comment to make in front of a national audience, especially considering how close the 49ers were to losing.

Despite San Francisco, the No. 1 seed with home-field advantage, entering as 10-point favorites, the seventh-seed Packers almost left Levi's Stadium with a victory. If the 49ers continue to play like that, their season might end in the NFC Championship Game against the Lions.

Kittle grew up as a Chicago Bears fan, so it's no surprise he enjoyed the Packers' downfall. And his 49ers have gotten the better of Green Bay in the playoffs.

But San Francisco's postseason dominance over Green Bay hasn't led to a Lombardi Trophy, and the Niners need a way better performance this week to even make this year's Super Bowl. We'll see if Kittle's "go the f-ck home" comments come back to haunt him.
