The Green Bay Packers proved they can compete with the best teams in the NFC. They destroyed the second-seed Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round and came agonizingly close to eliminating the top-seed San Francisco 49ers. And they achieved that with the league's youngest roster.

With five top-100 draft picks to continue their reboot, the Packers can level up and join the NFC's powerhouses in 2024. The offense is in a great position following Jordan Love's breakout season and the promise Green Bay's young receiving corps showed.

They must upgrade their defense to reach the next level. The Packers held their own defensively in the playoffs, but there are areas of concern entering the offseason. One of Brian Gutekunst's top priorities is to strengthen the secondary, and that's where the draft comes in.

Gutekunst hit a grand slam in last year's draft. Not every class works out that way. But with seven picks in the opening four rounds, the Packers can take plenty of swings at positions of need. In this mock draft, Green Bay triples down on defensive backs.

Round 1 (25): Kamren Kinchens, S, Miami

Safety is arguably Green Bay's number one need. Fortunately, picking 25th in the first round puts them in an excellent position to land one of the best safeties in the class, Miami's Kamren Kinchens. The Packers need significant upgrades at safety, as we saw in the playoffs. Kinchens would instantly upgrade the defense and can become a quality starter in the NFL.

Kinchens can play multiple positions in the secondary, including the slot. He is excellent in coverage and would add game-changing plays, which the Packers lacked in the defensive backfield without Rasul Douglas.

The Packers made only seven interceptions this season, the second-worst record in the NFL. Kinchens can help change that. He picked off 11 passes in his final two seasons at Miami, returning two for touchdowns.
