Round 3 (88): Trey Benson, RB, Florida State

The Packers must find a way to keep Aaron Jones after his dominant five-game stretch to end the season. He is also a leader the young players look up to. But Green Bay should still have an eye on the future at running back. Jones turns 30 next season, while AJ Dillon is a free agent and could be gone this spring.

Florida State's Trey Benson could be a home-run pick. He would complement Jones—and Dillon if he re-signs—in the backfield this season, with the potential to eventually replace Jones as the lead back. Benson has size and explosiveness and rarely goes down after first contact. A Jones-Benson backfield would be a lot of fun.

Round 3 (91): Maason Smith, DL, LSU

Green Bay has a talented, young defensive line, but it's built to stop the pass. Devonte Wyatt and Karl Brooks are excellent interior pass rushers but still need to work on their run defense. The Packers would benefit from drafting a powerful defensive lineman who can help shut down opposing running backs.

LSU's Maason Smith is 6-foot-6, 315 pounds, and could be the missing piece up front for Green Bay. He is athletic and powerful and would strengthen the Packers' run defense. Smith also offers some pass-rush ability. He made 2.5 sacks last season and 4.0 in 2021.
