2. Jared Goff, Lions

So far this season, the Detroit Lions have done a great job trying to stay balanced on offense. Behind David Montgomery's huge Week 4 against our Packers, the Lions ran for 211 yards on Green Bay's defense. However, quarterback Jared Goff was still effective.

Goff finished the game going 19-for-28 passing, for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception on the night. Fortunately, Detroit dominated in the trenches and Goff wasn't forced to do much more than make the open throws when he had them.

On the season, Goff ranks seventh in the league with 1,029 passing yards. He has thrown six touchdowns to three picks, and is completing 69.5 percent of his passes. Detroit's passing attack has picked up where it left off last season, through four weeks.

The Lions own the league's 10th overall rushing attack, though, so they have been extremely balanced overall. Next week, Goff gets to take on a Carolina defense that currently ranks sixth against the pass on the season.
