At A Crossroads: Packers 5-round mock draft ensures another year of Jordan Love
By Ryan Heckman
Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers aren't out of it just yet. At 5-6 and seeing the Minnesota Vikings drop a prime time game to Chicago, they have life.
Not to mention, Love played a great game on Thanksgiving and showed why Green Bay should still have some faith in him going forward. In that contest, Love finished with 268 yards, three scores and no picks. He's actually played some great football of late.
So, what about the future of this team and Love, in particular? Have we seen enough to merit Love cementing his spot as the team's franchise quarterback? What do the Packers do in the 2024 NFL Draft?
There are still many questions needing answers, but in our latest mock draft, the Packers choose to stick with Love for at least one more year.
With their first-round pick coming in at no. 13 overall, the Packers select Alabama offensive tackle J.C. Latham. Offensive line is definitely a category that needs upgrading, and this year's tackle class is outstanding.
Latham stands a towering 6-foot-6 and weighs 326 pounds, and he is every bit of a dense, strong mountain of a player. Latham is not only strong, but possesses great vision and anticipation when assessing opposing pass rushers. He has top-tier hand technique and strength, too, allowing him to not let go when he latches on.
In the run game, Latham is a finisher. He has that nasty mentality that drives him to punish opposing defenders, running them backwards. Latham would be a Day 1 starter and has the potential to be one of the best tackles in football in no time.
