At A Crossroads: Packers 5-round mock draft ensures another year of Jordan Love
By Ryan Heckman
With Darnell Savage missing some time due to a calf injury this year and his impending free agency, we're not sure if the Packers will bring him back or not in 2024. It might, in fact, be time to move on from Savage and try to find the next staple at safety, especially because his play has not been as consistent as the Packers would like.
One of the best defensive backs in this entire draft class goes off the board to Green Bay with their first of two second rounders, this one coming at no. 39 overall. Minnesota's Tyler Nubin is one of those physical, instinctive safeties that prides himself on being able to do a variety of things well at the position.
Nubin stands 6-foot-2, possessing elite size for the position. He has tremendous length which comes into play with some great ball skills as well. His desire to play towards the line of scrimmage and punish runners will also be welcomed in Green Bay, as they've become one of the league's worst run defenses in 2023.
