At A Crossroads: Packers 5-round mock draft ensures another year of Jordan Love
By Ryan Heckman
The wide receiving core is a mystery in Green Bay. It has felt like they have so many no. 2 options and no real alpha in that room. For Jordan Love, finding an alpha could be a good thing. Having that chemistry with one guy, knowing that he can go to him whenever he needs to, is vital for a young quarterback.
That's why the Packers take yet another receiver, here, with South Carolina's Xavier Legette. At 6-foot-3, Legette possesses enormous size. He is built like a compact truck at his position, too. He's strong and dense, allowing him to make defenders look silly after the catch. With his speed, Legette can break away on a moment's notice as well.
He'll have to get better at running routes, and might actually be a better fit in the slot, but Legette is so physically imposing with the ball in his hands that he's hard to take off the field. There are a lot of Deebo Samuel comparisons out there when talking about Legette, too. But, if he can become a better route runner and prove he can indeed "do it all," then Legette just might become Love's no. 1 option.
