5 potential replacements for Matt LaFleur in 2024

2. Ejiro Evero, Defensive Coordinator, Carolina Panthers
It's pretty funny mentioning back-to-back Panthers coaches, here, especially when they are the worst team in football. But, the reality is, Carolina has a couple of really, really good candidates. While McCown might take another year or two, Ejiro Evero is looked at as someone who will be ready immediately following the 2023 season.
Having spent time under coaches like Jim Harbaugh, Sean McVay and Frank Reich, Evero has been around some of the best. Last year, although it was a rough year in Denver, Evero's Broncos defense still finished allowing the seventh-fewest yards and held up their end of the deal. It was Russell Wilson and the offense that fell short.
Evero is looked at as one of the better candidates to become a head coach next offseason, bucking the trend of offensive minds being the top targets. Joe Barry has been a thorn in Packers fans' sides for a while now, and seeing an elite defensive mind take over play calling on that side could be a welcomed move by Green Bay.
