Avoid: J.K. Dobbins, 2024 NFL Free Agency

Most NFL fans should already know why Green Bay should be avoiding J.K. Dobbins in free agency next year. In four seasons, Dobbins has suffered a pair of very serious injuries. Back in 2021, he tore his ACL, putting him out for the year. Early on this season, Dobbins tore his Achilles, of course ending this year for him.

When healthy, Dobbins had looked like a guy ready to be a top-10 running back in this league. He is very shifty and has great breakaway speed once he reaches the second level. Over his first two healthy seasons, Dobbins averaged 6.0 and 5.7 yards per tote (2020 and 2022, respectively). His best overall campaign, though, did in fact come as a rookie. Since then, it's been downhill for the former Ohio State Buckeye.

Now, I will say this: as a flier on a veteran's minimum, Dobbins is worth a look. He'll be at the point where he needs to prove quite a bit if he's to continue his NFL career. Beyond a minimum deal, though, he isn't worth pursuing.
