How much should you expect Jordan Love to play in the preseason?

It's a different story for the Green Bay Packers this season.

Jordan Love will play in Packers preseason opener vs. Browns

LaFleur revealed that Love and most of the Packers' starters will play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns.

It's a chance for the starting lineup to get some valuable in-game reps together against another NFL opponent.

While Love has proved he is the guy in Green Bay, he is still a young quarterback building chemistry with his receivers. The Packers want to hit the ground running in the regular season, and the preseason can help them find some rhythm.

It's a risk-reward balance. Green Bay got burned by playing its starters when Jordy Nelson suffered a torn ACL in 2015. LaFleur said they will be smart with their starters.

Aaron Rodgers barely played in the preseason in the latter stages of his Packers career. He already had a great connection with his receivers.

Love likely won't be out there for too long in the preseason opener, but getting a few series with the first-team offense is beneficial, especially if the Browns have their starting defense on the field.

Beyond the first game, it's unclear how much Love will play in contests against the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens.
