Is Josh Jacobs playing today? Latest injury updates ahead of Packers vs. Colts
With Malik Willis expected to start at quarterback, the Green Bay Packers need a healthy Josh Jacobs.
Jacobs overcame a slow start in his Packers debut to finish with an impressive 84 yards on 16 carries. The Indianapolis Colts rank 32nd in the league for rushing yards allowed entering Week 2, but they will stack the box to try to take away the Packers' ground game.
Having already lost Jordan Love to a sprained MCL, the last thing the Packers needed was an injury to Jacobs. Surprisingly, he was on the injury report due to a back issue.
However, there's good news.
Josh Jacobs will play in Packers home opener vs. Colts in Week 2
Yes, Jacobs is expected to play in the Packers' Week 2 matchup against the Colts. Despite being a limited participant at practice all week, the Packers didn't give Jacobs an injury designation for the game, which means he is good to go.
This gives the offense a huge boost, especially as they could again be without rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd, who is questionable due to a hamstring injury.

Jacobs avoided a questionable tag, which eliminates any doubt that he will play. Hopefully, his back issue wasn't anything serious and won't limit him in this game. The Packers need to find success with their rushing attack to take the pressure off of Malik Willis and the passing game.
Last week, the Colts allowed a league-high 213 rushing yards versus the Houston Texans, including 159 and a touchdown to Joe Mixon. Jacobs will hope to replicate those numbers today. It won't be as easy, as the Colts will adapt their gameplan to take away the run. Last week, they had to worry about a passing attack featuring C.J. Stroud, Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell.
Jacobs will play in Week 2, and the Packers will need to lean on him.
