The Green Bay Packers still have a lot to play for before 2023 becomes 2024. They take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football in effectively a win-or-go-home game for both teams. The losing team will likely see their playoff dreams end.

Beyond this week's game, the Packers have several important decisions to make that will impact their future.

It has been a rocky first season of this new era, but the progress made by Jordan Love and the offense is highly encouraging. Green Bay can become a contender with Love in the future, but the team must take the right steps in the upcoming offseason.

Including a new deal for Love, the Packers have big decisions to make in 2024.

Jordan Love contract extension

Love has done more than enough to land a new deal in Green Bay. The Packers signed him to a one-year extension last offseason, ensuring he remains under contract through the 2024 season. But we can expect the Packers to offer him a long-term deal in the spring.

In 15 games this season, Love has completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 3,587 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, earning a 91.8 rating. He has also rushed for three touchdowns. Love already has more passing touchdowns than Aaron Rodgers threw last season and is only 108 passing yards behind.

What's most exciting is Love's play in the past eight games. He has completed 66.4 percent of his passes for 2,095 yards, 16 touchdowns, and just three interceptions, with a 103.2 rating.

Love is the future, and a new long-term deal awaits.
