1. Detroit Lions

This was the Detroit Lions' opportunity. They led the San Francisco 49ers by 17 points at halftime and looked on track for their first trip to the Super Bowl. Detroit defeated the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 1 and would've had a chance to beat them for their title.

Instead, the Lions are wondering what happened. And what's next?

Head coach Dan Campbell may first need to find a new offensive coordinator. Then, the Lions must figure out how to build on this successful season. Their upcoming free agents include Jonah Jackson, Graham Glasgow, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

Detroit exceeded expectations this season, winning its first NFC North title and reaching the conference championship. However, life could become more challenging in the division next season, with the Packers and Bears likely to improve.

Bouncing back from a heartbreaking playoff exit is no easy task. Packers fans understand that, having been there after throwing away the NFC title game in Seattle in 2014. There were similarities to the Lions' dramatic defeat on Sunday.

But if any coach can pick their team up and make another run in 2024, it's Dan Campbell. He has a talented roster that will remain competitive in the NFC.
