The most fascinating NFC North battle in years awaits. Can the Green Bay Packers remain competitive without Aaron Rodgers? Will the Minnesota Vikings stay on top? Are the Detroit Lions for real?

Detroit has never won the NFC North but enters the 2023 season with its best opportunity yet. Green Bay moves into a new era without its superstar quarterback and several veteran starters. Minnesota also lost key players this offseason.

But are the Lions ready to take over the division? What about the Chicago Bears? They spent big in free agency and drafted well. Can they go from worst to first?

It's arguably the toughest division to predict in the NFL this year. Despite that, it's time to look into the crystal ball. And if these predictions come true, the NFC North will provide an all-time classic season in 2023.

4. Minnesota Vikings

  • Final record: 7-10
  • Division record: 2-4

From first to worst? Regression should be expected for the Vikings this fall. It doesn't necessarily mean they won't compete, but this year, a 7-10 record might not be enough for anything other than last place.

The Vikings' 13-4 record flattered them a year ago. They were a perfect 11-0 in one-score games, an unsustainable run. Then we factor in that Minnesota lost Za'Darius Smith, Dalvin Tomlinson, Adam Thielen, Dalvin Cook, Eric Kendricks, and Patrick Peterson.

Minnesota's offense again promises to be one of the league's best, especially with an underrated offensive line. But defensive concerns loom large, and it could ultimately cost the Vikings a winning record.
