NFC North quarterbacks ranked from worst to best entering Week 3
3. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
Jared Goff has made a steady start to the regular season. His interception-free streak came to an end in dramatic style, with Goff throwing a costly pick-six against the Seattle Seahawks, but he has otherwise had a solid two games.
Goff has completed 71.4 percent of his passes for 576 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in the Lions' 1-1 start.
Unlike the Bears with Justin Fields, the Lions have built a system that works for Goff. He can play to his strengths. Behind an excellent offensive line, Goff is a reliable starter, gets the ball in the right places, and rarely makes mistakes.
Goff's interception against the Seahawks was his first in 359 pass attempts, the third-longest streak in NFL history.
Goff will be tested if Pro Bowl wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown misses any time. He didn't practice on Wednesday due to a toe injury, which is something to watch. The Lions can't afford to lose their star receiver, as he is so important to the offense. St. Brown is a receiver Goff can trust to always be in the right place, and he is so good at picking up yards after the catch.
After an excellent 2022 season, Goff has made a solid start in the opening two games.
