3. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

Jared Goff is coming off a strong season with the Lions. He threw for 4,438 yards, 29 touchdowns, and seven interceptions with a passer rating of 99.3.

But how much of the Lions' offensive success was due to Goff, and how much was it on everything around him?

He couldn't have asked for a better supporting cast, starting with one of the best offensive lines in the league. Goff had plenty of time to throw and rarely had pressure in his face.

Goff is a talented quarterback, but will he ever reach the level high enough to lead his team on deep postseason runs year after year? Probably not, which is why the Los Angeles Rams traded him for Matthew Stafford.

It would seem the Lions don't believe in him long-term, either, having just drafted Hendon Hooker in the third round.

Detroit will probably again have one of the best offenses in the league this season. Its offensive line is great, and Goff gets to throw to a talented receiving corps featuring Pro Bowler Amon-Ra St. Brown, Marvin Jones, and rookie tight end Sam LaPorta. The Lions can also run the ball with David Montgomery and rookie Jahmyr Gibbs.

But Goff doesn't carry this offense. Many quarterbacks would find success in Detroit.
