NFC North tight end units ranked from worst to best in 2023

Does the arrival of Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft give the Green Bay Packers the best tight end unit in the NFC North, or is there still work to do?

Like the Lions, the Packers lack experience at tight end. After losing Robert Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis in free agency, they will be relying on rookies Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft to step into featured roles early on.

Green Bay selected Musgrave in the second round and Kraft in the third round of April's draft. Both are elite athletes.

It's going to be fascinating to see how Matt LaFleur uses his tight ends this season. Musgrave might need time to reach his potential, but with his size, athleticism, speed, and receiving ability, he is already a mismatch.

Josiah Deguara is the one to watch. Despite being a backup with the Packers his entire career, he is the most experienced player at the position. Whether he gets snaps ahead of either rookie or the Packers use him in the backfield in an H-back role will be interesting.

An ideal scenario would be Musgrave and Kraft starting, with Deguara impacting the game as an H-back, a role that could get the most out of his skill set.

The Packers have a lot of potential at tight end, but this is an inexperienced, unproven group.
