NFL power rankings: Where do Packers stand entering Week 1?
22. New England Patriots
It's still surprising to see the Patriots so low in the rankings after so many dominant years. But with two losing records in the past three years, it could be another long season for New England. The Patriots need Mac Jones to get back to his best.
21. Denver Broncos
The 2022 season couldn't have gone any worse for the Broncos. They went 5-12 but didn't even get the benefit of picking fifth in the draft -- their selection went to the Seattle Seahawks as part of the Russell Wilson trade. But the Broncos have a talented roster, and Sean Payton gives them a better chance of returning to the playoffs.
20. Chicago Bears
Chicago had the worst record in football last season but has made significant changes. With a boatload of draft picks and the most cap space in the league, the Bears strengthened both sides of the ball and can compete in the NFC North. How far the Bears go comes down to Justin Fields.
19. Green Bay Packers
The Packers enter the unknown. Six weeks from now, they could be in the top five in these rankings or the bottom five. Who knows? They have a talented defense on paper, but Joe Barry's unit underperformed a year ago. It all comes down to Jordan Love. If he shows he is the Packers' long-term answer at QB, they could make the playoffs. If he struggles, a top-five pick could await.
