Tight end: Austin Allen

The Packers' top four at tight end are probably set. Rookies Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft are roster locks, and Josiah Deguara and Tyler Davis likely are, too.

Austin Allen is 6-foot-8, 253 pounds. The Packers signed him to their practice squad in January. Allen's opportunity to make the 53-man roster would have to come at Davis' expense, although Davis is a core special teams player, having led the team in snaps last season.

Offensive line: Royce Newman

Positional versatility helps Royce Newman's chances of making the roster -- he can line up at guard or tackle -- but the reality is that he hasn't played well enough.

Newman started 16 games as a rookie, showing potential but making far too many mistakes. His inconsistent play was an issue.

And he took a significant step back in year two. Newman's snap counts decreased by more than half, and he struggled when he did get opportunities. His worst performance came against the New York Jets. According to PFF, Newman gave up six pressures on 44 pass-blocking snaps in that game.

Do the Packers have enough depth to move on from Newman? That's the question that could determine whether he makes the roster. Newman needs to show signs of improvement as he enters his third season. His spot on the 53-man roster is far from guaranteed entering training camp.
