Defensive line: Jonathan Ford

Jonathan Ford provides cover at nose tackle, but is it enough to make the roster? He would likely need the Packers to keep six defensive linemen.

Kenny Clark, T.J. Slaton, and second-year Devonte Wyatt are the Packers' projected starters, and the team drafted Colby Wooden and Karl Brooks. Ford needs to play well this summer to earn a spot on the roster.

Edge rusher: Jonathan Garvin

Even if Rashan Gary begins the year on the physically unable to perform list, Jonathan Garvin could still struggle to make the roster.

Preston Smith, Lukas Van Ness, and Kingsley Enagbare are roster locks. The Packers re-signed Justin Hollins after he played well last season. Rookie Brenton Cox Jr. has also increased his chances of making the roster after impressing during the offseason program.

Garvin has 1.5 sacks in three seasons, and the Packers' good depth at edge rusher could cost him a roster spot.

Inside linebacker: Tariq Carpenter

Tariq Carpenter switched from safety to linebacker this offseason, but he still faces tough competition for a roster spot.

De'Vondre Campbell and Quay Walker will start in Joe Barry's defense. Isaiah McDuffie has secured his position as the number three, while Eric Wilson became one of the Packers' top special teams contributors last season.

Special teams is also Carpenter's path to the roster, but it won't be easy.
