Packers 2022 rookie class scored 12th most points in team history

Led by three first-year receivers, the Green Bay Packers' rookies scored 13 touchdowns last season for a total of 78 points. The 78 points were the third-most scored by a team's rookies in the NFL last season, and it was the 12th most by Packers rookies in team history.

Christian Watson led the way with nine TDs scored for the Packers rooks, followed by Romeo Doubs with three TDs, and Samori Toure, who scored one.

It was the most points scored by Green Bay Packers rookies since 2013 when Eddie Lacy, Brandon Bostick, Johnathan Franklin, and Micah Hyde scored 84 points for the team in that campaign.

The highest scoring rookie class for the Packers was in 2007. Led by rookie placekicker Mason Crosby, the Pack first-year players that season tallied 183 points, most in team history. Crosby had 141 points, followed by DeShawn Wynn with 24, James Jones with 12, and Brandon Jackson with six.

If you do a little research into these groups of rookies, you will notice that most of the high-scoring rookie classes for the Packers included a placekicker who tallied most of the points.

Case in point: Crosby was the leading scorer among rookies in 2007. Among other rookie Green Bay placekickers who scored a lot of points in their first season: Chester Marcol (1972), Ryan Longwell (1997), Chris Jacke (1989). They led the rookie classes that finished second, third and fourth in our list.

The 2022 Green Bay rookies scored the third-most points (78) in the NFL last season. Topping the list were the Cleveland Browns with 107 points. All those points came off the foot of rookie kicker Cade York. In second place were the Los Angeles Chargers with 91 points; 79 of those rookie points came from placekicker Cameron Dicker.

Christian Watson's 54 points was tied for the third most in the NFL last season by a rookie. Placekickers York and Dicker were #1 and #2.
