Brian Gutekunst loves a trade. He makes several moves every year, some involving star players like Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams, and others for players on the roster bubble.

Gutekunst rarely gets a bad deal for the Packers. It's one of his biggest strengths.

The Packers landed a fantastic deal for Rodgers earlier this year. Even more impressive is how Gutekunst negotiates trades for players who aren't going to make the Packers' roster. Green Bay received draft picks for Cole Van Lanen, Ka'dar Hollman, and Reggie Gilbert in recent offseasons.

Which players could the Packers move on from this summer?

3. Royce Newman

Where does Royce Newman fit into Green Bay's plans this season?

He previously started 16 games as a rookie, but that feels like a distant memory now. Newman isn't landing a starting guard job ahead of Elgton Jenkins or Jon Runyan, and Zach Tom is likely ahead of him should either starter get injured.

David Bakhtiari and either Tom or Yosh Nijman are the projected starters at tackle.

Newman can play both positions, but he is likely fourth on the depth chart at best. He will face competition at tackle from Rasheed Walker and Caleb Jones, and at guard from Sean Rhyan.

But that doesn't mean he can't help another team. A team in need of offensive line depth could trade a Day 3 pick to the Packers. Gutekunst has made similar moves in recent years, so it would make sense if Newman is on the roster bubble.
