Amon-Ra St. Brown over Amari Rodgers

Gutekunst had an opportunity to put things right at wide receiver two years later.

Davante Adams was the Packers' WR1, while Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard were good complementary receivers. However, Adams and MVS were entering contract years and the Packers needed help in the slot.

In the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Packers selected Clemson wide receiver Amari Rodgers with the 85th overall selection.

Twenty-seven picks later, the Detroit Lions selected Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Not only did the Packers decide against reuniting the St. Brown brothers in Green Bay, but they also missed the opportunity to add a star receiver.

Rodgers was released midway through his second season. He didn't get many opportunities on offense but struggled on special teams. He had five fumbles in 2022.

In Detroit, St. Brown has been outstanding, catching 196 passes for 2,073 yards and 11 touchdowns in his first two seasons, making the Pro Bowl in 2022.

He is exactly the type of wide receiver the Packers desperately need. Unfortunately, they have to play against St. Brown twice a season. In four games against Green Bay, St. Brown has made 21 catches for 231 yards and a touchdown.

Rodgers is no longer on Green Bay's roster, while St. Brown has become a star in Detroit's offense.
