3 reasons to be nervous about the Packers in 2023
1. Is Jordan Love the Packers' long-term answer at QB?
Jordan Love has done everything right this summer. He looked comfortable during the preseason, made a number of wow throws, and protected the ball well. The signs were encouraging, but the real test begins in Week 1.
It's one thing to do it on the practice field and in the preseason. Now, Love has to prove himself when the games count. The pressure is on.
Packers fans should be confident in Love -- I certainly am -- but nobody can say with certainty how well this offense will perform in 2023.
We will learn a lot about Love this season. The Packers didn't pick up his fifth-year option, instead handing him a one-year extension that allowed them to hedge their bets. They want to see Love prove himself before committing long-term.
There is always uncertainty when a team replaces a Hall of Fame quarterback with a young, inexperienced player.
The Packers spent three seasons developing Love. The progress he has made is evident. But can he now take the next step and become the Packers' next franchise quarterback? Nobody knows. Only time will tell.
Love could lead the Packers to the NFC North title this season, or he could struggle, with the team quickly falling out of contention.
There is plenty of excitement among Packers fans, and for good reason, but the team enters the unknown this fall.
