3 standouts and 2 duds from Packers training camp practice on Tuesday
Just like that, Green Bay Packers training camp is nearing an end.
The team has its final public practice scheduled for Wednesday, and they will complete their preseason against the Seattle Seahawks this week. Then, it's time to finalize the 53-man roster and begin the preparations for Week 1 against the Chicago Bears.
As ever, there were plenty of interesting takeaways from the Packers' practice on Tuesday. There is still so much on the line.
Here are three standouts and two duds from Tuesday's practice.
Standout: Josiah Deguara
The Packers need Josiah Deguara to step up this season. He is listed as a fullback on the depth chart, so he will play a vital role as a blocker in Matt LaFleur's offense. He can also help a young tight end room featuring two rookies, especially after losing Tyler Davis for the season.
Deguara has had an up-and-down summer but received praise for his performance during Tuesday's practice.
"I've been tough on Deguara but he's had a really nice day blocking today. Nice blitz pickup earlier and now nice block downfield," writes Andy Herman of the Pack-A-Day podcast.
Hopefully, Deguara can build on this and become a key starter for the Packers in the regular season.
