3 winners (and 2 losers) for Packers in preseason win over Bengals
Winner: Jordan Love
The Packers will be pleased with Jordan Love's start to the preseason. He only played two possessions but looked sharp, completing seven of 10 passes for 46 yards and a touchdown, earning a passer rating of 112.9.
There are areas to improve -- Love missed Luke Musgrave on third down on the opening drive -- but there were far more positives than negatives.
As we have seen throughout the summer, Love looked comfortable. He limited mistakes, didn't turn the ball over, and made some impressive throws.
Love connected with Romeo Doubs for a nine-yard touchdown off of play-action for about their millionth connection of the summer. The two have developed great chemistry, starting in the offseason program and now continuing through training camp.
The ball didn't only go in Doubs' direction, though. Love spread the ball around, connecting with Aaron Jones, Luke Musgrave, Christian Watson, and Jayden Reed. The Packers' young pass-catchers impressed against the Bengals.
Love continues to make progress. He didn't play for long in this game, but it was another encouraging day for the former first-round pick. Improving his consistency remains a focus, but Love is a completely different player from his first couple of seasons in Green Bay.
