Packers: 4 potential replacements for Jordan Love if he struggles in 2023
Packers could draft Caleb Williams in 2024
If the Packers' 2023 season falls apart and they end up with one of the top picks in next year's draft, a name to watch is USC's Caleb Williams, who is projected to be the top quarterback prospect in 2024. Many believe Williams will become the next great quarterback in the NFL.
And there's good reason to think that. In 2022, Williams put up insane numbers for USC, throwing for 4,537 yards, 42 touchdowns, and only five interceptions. Aaron Rodgers would be proud of those stats. Even more incredible is that he added 10 rushing touchdowns to that total.
Williams won the Heisman Trophy and was named the AP College Football Player of the Year, just two of several individual awards he earned for his incredible 2022 season.
"The reigning Heisman Trophy winner is a do-it-all quarterback who routinely makes off-platform throws and jaw-dropping plays," wrote ESPN's Matt Miller.
Realistically, the Packers would need the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft to have any chance of landing Williams. Trading up to that spot could be a near-impossible task. But if the Packers decide to move on from Jordan Love after one season, Williams should be their top target.
