Packers: 4 potential replacements for Jordan Love if he struggles in 2023
Packers could draft Drake Maye in 2024
If the Packers miss out on Caleb Williams, the next best quarterback prospect in 2024 could be North Carolina's Drake Maye.
The 2022 ACC Player of the Year is another quarterback with superstar potential in the NFL. Like Williams, he will likely compete for the No. 1 spot in next year's draft.
Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network wrote: "Maye's potential is untapped, and at just 20 years old, he has a performance ceiling as lofty as any we've seen at the position in a long while. Mobility, arm strength, footwork, processing, it's all there when you look down to check the boxes on his impressive skill set."
Maye played in 14 games for North Carolina last season, throwing for 4,321 yards, 38 touchdowns, and only seven interceptions. Again, Aaron Rodgers numbers. Like Caleb Williams, Maye also offers a ton on the ground, rushing for 698 yards and seven touchdowns last year. Incredible.
Watching Maye and Williams in a possible battle for the No. 1 pick in next year's draft will be fascinating. It will also be interesting to watch Jordan Love in his first year as a starter for the Packers.
Hopefully, Love dominates and has an excellent season as the Packers' starting quarterback. Green Bay wouldn't need to consider adding a quarterback in 2024. The Packers' only concern would be how quickly they could get Love signed to a new deal.
But if Love struggles and the Packers go in another direction, there are plenty of interesting options.
