4 standouts and 1 dud from Packers first joint practice with Patriots
The Green Bay Packers hosted the New England Patriots for the first of two joint practices on Wednesday.
It was a great opportunity for the Packers to test themselves against a talented Patriots team, giving this new-look roster different challenges to face at practice. The two teams will meet at Lambeau Field on Saturday evening in their second preseason contest.
What did we learn from the Packers' joint practice with the Patriots? Here are four standouts and one dud from Wednesday.
Standout: Christian Watson
Christian Watson is going to be a problem for defenses this season. His big-play ability was on full display against New England on Wednesday.
Evan Lazar of Patriots.com noted that New England's secondary "had its hands full" against Watson and Romeo Doubs. He wrote that the two Packers receivers "were really impressive."
Watson made one of the plays of the day, a deep touchdown catch from Jordan Love. While the exact distance hasn't been confirmed, many noted it was at least 70 yards. It was a fantastic play from both Love and Watson and hopefully a sign of what's to come this season.
With his elite speed, Watson can hit a home run at any moment as he proved against the Patriots on Wednesday.
