4 winners (and 2 losers) for Packers in Week 2 loss to Falcons
Winner: Jayden Reed
The Packers needed to rely on their young receivers with Christian Watson and Aaron Jones out. Enter rookie Jayden Reed.
Jordan Love targeted Reed eight times, with the second-round pick catching four passes for 37 yards and two touchdowns. This follows a 48-yard performance in the season opener. Quietly, Reed has made an excellent start to his NFL career.
And he is just getting started. Reed is a playmaker, picks up yards after the catch, and is excellent at winning contested catches despite his size. Reed stepped up when the Packers needed him this week.
It's exciting to imagine his potential once Christian Watson returns from a hamstring injury. Watson takes so much attention away from defenders due to his elite speed and big-play ability. As he stretches defenses vertically, Reed will get opportunities in the middle of the field and could dominate.
In an ideal world, you never want to rely on rookies to lead the way on offense. But with Watson out, the Packers needed a big performance from their second-round pick. And Reed stepped up, catching two of Jordan Love's three touchdown passes. Reed has huge potential in Green Bay's offense, and he has made the perfect start.
