2. Anders Carlson

The Packers stuck with Anders Carlson throughout training camp, which is admirable. But their patience could run thin if his inconsistent play continues in the regular season and hurts Green Bay's chances of winning games.

General manager Brian Gutekunst didn't add any competition for Carlson during camp, a vote of confidence for their sixth-round draft choice. However, Carlson needs to improve once the games count.

The rookie kicker converted only 68.8 percent of his field goals at practice this summer, per Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated. While he displayed tremendous power on his kicks, he lacked consistency, and that's a concern entering the regular season.

The pressure on each kick will increase once the real games begin next week at Soldier Field. Each missed attempt hurts a lot more in a regular season game than on the practice field.

Harsh Lambeau Field conditions test any kicker late in the year. Carlson has to prepare for that. Mason Crosby knows how to kick in Green Bay better than anyone, and he is waiting for his opportunity.

The Packers understandably showed patience with Carlson during training camp. However, he must repay their faith by making a solid start to the regular season. The pressure is on, and the Packers may have to give Crosby a call if Carlson can't improve his consistency.
