1. Royce Newman

Royce Newman surprisingly made the Packers' 53-man roster after a disappointing summer, but it's hard to see how he can play many snaps this season. Newman was called for four penalties during the three preseason games, and he often played into the fourth quarter, a sign he was far from a roster lock.

What helped Newman was the Packers' lack of depth at the interior offensive line positions. They are strong at tackle, but there are more questions at the interior spots.

Beyond the starting trio of guards Elgton Jenkins, Jon Runyan and center Josh Myers, the Packers lack depth. Second-year Sean Rhyan is likely the top backup at guard, and the Packers could move Zach Tom inside from right tackle.

But that doesn't mean Newman will be on the roster all season. At some point, they will probably need him to step in and cover, either following an injury or late in the fourth quarter of a blowout. If he doesn't improve on his performances in training camp and the preseason, the Packers will have no choice but to look to bring in a free agent.

Newman surprisingly made the initial 53-man roster, but he needs to show significant improvements to keep his place for the entire season.
