Defensive line (5)

  1. Kenny Clark
  2. Devonte Wyatt
  3. T.J. Slaton
  4. Colby Wooden
  5. Karl Brooks

Outside of Kenny Clark, this is an inexperienced group. But Matt LaFleur is impressed with rookies Colby Wooden and Karl Brooks, who will have a role to play this season. An increased role for Devonte Wyatt and T.J. Slaton is expected with Jarran Reed and Dean Lowry gone. The success of the defensive line comes down to whether the Packers' young players can handle more snaps.

Edge rusher (6)

  1. Rashan Gary
  2. Preston Smith
  3. Lukas Van Ness
  4. Kingsley Enagbare
  5. Justin Hollins
  6. Brenton Cox Jr.

This assumes that Rashan Gary is ready to go at the start of the season. If not, he could begin on the PUP list. Justin Hollins might already be a roster lock. He has spent a lot of time with the starting defense.

Undrafted rookie Brenton Cox Jr. could be another surprise selection on the 53-man roster. Matt LaFleur singled him out as a player who has impressed him so far this offseason, which is a good sign.

Inside linebacker (4)

  1. De'Vondre Campbell
  2. Quay Walker
  3. Isaiah McDuffie
  4. Eric Wilson

The top four is likely set. De'Vondre Campbell and Quay Walker are the starters, while Isaiah McDuffie has all but guaranteed the No. 3 job. Eric Wilson was arguably the Packers' most important special teams player outside of Keisean Nixon last season, and that's where most of his work will come in 2023.
