Green Bay Packers 53-man roster predictions after OTAs
Defensive line (6)
- Kenny Clark
- Devonte Wyatt
- T.J. Slaton
- Colby Wooden
- Karl Brooks
- Jonathan Ford
The Packers will have two new starters along the defensive line this season after Jarran Reed and Dean Lowry left in free agency. Second-year Devonte Wyatt should start next to Kenny Clark, while T.J. Slaton could start at nose tackle.
Rookies Colby Wooden and Karl Brooks will contribute this season, while second-year Jonathan Ford provides depth at nose tackle.
Edge rusher (5)
- Rashan Gary
- Preston Smith
- Lukas Van Ness
- Kingsley Enagbare
- Justin Hollins
Rashan Gary is working his way back from a torn ACL. Hopefully, he will be ready to go before Week 1 and makes the initial 53-man roster. If not, he could begin the regular season on the PUP list.
The Packers have strengthened their pass rush in the offseason by drafting Lukas Van Ness 13th overall. Gary's return will also give the defense a huge boost.
This is a talented group. The Packers don't necessarily need to keep a sixth edge rusher if Gary is back for the start of the season.
Inside linebacker (5)
- De'Vondre Campbell
- Quay Walker
- Isaiah McDuffie
- Eric Wilson
- Tariq Carpenter
De'Vondre Campbell returns for his third season in Green Bay. The Packers will hope for more consistency from 2022 first-round pick Quay Walker.
Tariq Carpenter moved from safety to inside linebacker, giving him a better chance of making the roster. He can contribute on special teams, which is also where Eric Wilson will play the majority of his snaps.
