Packers 53-man roster predictions after second week of training camp
- Who could make 53-man roster after Family Night?
- Tyler Goodson to miss out?
- Six defensive linemen, five safeties
Two weeks into training camp, we're beginning to get an idea of which players will make the Green Bay Packers' 53-man roster.
The Packers completed their annual Family Night practice at Lambeau Field on Saturday evening, and they now prepare for the first of three preseason contests against the Cincinnati Bengals this week.
These games will go a long way to determining which players on the roster bubble make the initial 53.
There is still a long way to go, but we have learned a lot about this team in the opening two weeks of training camp. Based on what's happened so far, here is our latest attempt at predicting the Packers' 53-man roster.
Quarterback (2)
Jordan Love, Sean Clifford
Decision made? The Packers released veteran Danny Etling this weekend, a potential sign that rookie Sean Clifford is the team's preferred choice to back up Jordan Love.
And understandably so. Not only does Clifford offer the greater upside as a draft pick the Packers can develop in the coming years, but he has also put in several impressive performances on the practice field.
The Packers still have the option to bring in another veteran, but the likelihood is decreasing by the day. A top two of Love and Clifford seems to be set.
