Edge rusher (5)

Preston Smith, Lukas Van Ness, KIngsley Enagbare, Justin Hollins, Brenton Cox Jr.

PUP: Rashan Gary

Time will tell whether Rashan Gary is ready to return in time for Week 1. If not, he could begin the season on the PUP list.

The Packers have much better depth at pass rusher than a year ago. Lukas Van Ness has impressed throughout the summer, and undrafted rookie Brenton Cox Jr. has made plays. If he can build on that in the preseason, Cox will have a good chance of making the 53-man roster.

There's a lot to like about Green Bay's talent and depth at edge rusher, especially once Gary is back.

Inside linebacker (5)

De'Vondre Campbell, Quay Walker, Isaiah McDuffie, Eric Wilson, Tariq Carpenter

Reports from training camp have been encouraging about the Packers' inside linebackers. The hope is that Quay Walker can make a jump in year two after showing potential in his rookie season.

A player to watch is Tariq Carpenter, who made a position switch from safety to inside linebacker this offseason. He made two interceptions at Family Night and can contribute on special teams.

Rashan Gary starting on the PUP list opened up one more roster spot, which went to Carpenter. It won't be surprising if the Packers find room for him on the 53.
