It wasn't all great news for the Green Bay Packers at practice on Thursday, but Aaron Jones' return certainly is.

Jones practiced for the first time since injuring his hamstring in the Packers' Week 1 win over the Chicago Bears, and he looked good.

It's a step in the right direction for Jones and his status on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. It would give the offense a huge boost if he's ready to return this week. Christian Watson could miss the game, so getting Jones back would make a massive difference for Green Bay's offense.

Aaron Jones injury update: Packers running back looks great in return to practice

ESPN's Rob Demovsky posted a video of Jones practicing on Thursday. The injury report will give us a better indication of whether Jones was a limited or full participant, but he sure looked fine based on this video.

Jones doesn't appear to have too many limitations while running, which is an encouraging sign.

It's not guaranteed he will return this week, however. It's worth noting that Green Bay hosts the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 4. That's only four days after the Packers take on the Saints. They may feel the best move is to aim for a return against the Lions, but we'll see.

It's certainly a positive step. Jones didn't practice all last week and missed the game versus Atlanta. Having him return to the practice field is great news.

However, the Packers will be cautious. Christian Watson returned to practice on Wednesday but sat out on Thursday, an indication that he isn't ready to return yet.

The Packers will provide more injury updates as the week goes on, but it seems Jones is trending in the right direction ahead of the home opener against the Saints.
