Aaron Rodgers will soon swap the Green Bay Packers for New York Jets.

One heavy criticism the Packers often faced during the Rodgers era was that they didn't surround him with enough receiving talent.

In New York, that was supposed to change.

Well, until the Jets missed out on a big-time move to help their offense.

Aaron Rodgers won't be throwing to Odell Beckham Jr. in 2023

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is signing with the Baltimore Ravens.

The timing of this move is surprising, as Rapoport reported that the Jets were scheduled to host Beckham for a free-agent visit, starting on Sunday night. He added that "Baltimore stepped up with money."

The Jets' loss is the Ravens' gain, and this feels all so familiar for Packers fans. How many times have the Packers been "in the conversation" for a top free agent, only for another team to make the deal?

Rodgers would've entered the season with an outstanding wide receiver trio of Garrett Wilson, Odell Beckham, and Allen Lazard. Instead, the Jets must be left wondering what on earth has happened. How did the player they were scheduled to meet with sign elsewhere before the visit even began?

Green Bay often received criticism for not surrounding Rodgers with enough talent. Some of that is fair, although it is sometimes a little harsh.

Rodgers got to throw to Davante Adams, a multi-time All-Pro in Green Bay. He was joined by Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who helped the Kansas City Chiefs win the Super Bowl, and Allen Lazard, who the Jets have signed to play with Rodgers.

Some things never change. Beckham chose the Los Angeles Rams over the Packers in 2021, and Rodgers has once again missed out on playing with the three-time Pro Bowler.
