3 Packers to blame for brutal loss to Raiders in Week 5
1. Jordan Love
This was easily Jordan Love's worst performance of the season.
Love had three picks against the Raiders' defense on Monday Night Football. His first was possibly his worst throw of the year. Love threw the ball straight into the arms of Raiders linebacker Robert Spillane. He just didn't see him.
In the Packers' first two games of the season, Love threw for 396 yards, six touchdowns, and no interceptions, with a passer rating of 118.8. In the three games since, Love has thrown for 687 yards, two touchdowns, and six interceptions, with a passer rating of 57.7.
According to Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis, over the past two weeks, Love has gone 14-of-32 with five interceptions and no touchdowns on passes over five yards.
Jordan Love's stats entering the Packers' bye week: 90/162 for 1,083 yards, eight touchdowns, and six interceptions, with a passer rating of 77.3.
Love has made plenty of impressive throws in the opening five games, but he has struggled in recent weeks, which is concerning. He has to play better to help this offense improve. Since the fourth quarter of Week 2, the Packers have failed to score a single point in seven of 13 quarters of football.
Is Love the Packers' long-term answer at QB? We don't know. But he has to play much better than on Monday night.
