Week 8: Vikings Week

By the time the Packers host Minnesota on October 29, it'll have been over a month since they suited up at Lambeau Field.

This homecoming will come at a perfect time, as the team will surely appreciate having the home crowd around for the latest chapter in the age-old Packers-Vikings rivalry.

Last season, these squads split their season series. Minnesota eased past Green Bay in Week 1, only for the Packers to return the favor and decimate Kevin O'Connell's crew in Week 17.

As things currently sit, both teams seem to be in the same orbit. The Packers sit at .500, while Minnesota is 1-3. Despite their slow start, all four of the Vikings games so far have been decided by one score.

So, it'd be unwise for the Packers to look past their frequent opponent. Because they're the better all-around team, and at home, the Packers will be favored to close out October on a high note.

However, the Vikings remain a high-powered offense with more room to grow as the season continues.

To win this divisional matchup, Love and the offense must keep pace with the Vikings' explosiveness.

The Packers certainly have the advantage on defense in this matchup, so they'll need to close the gap on the other end to defend their home turf.

If Green Bay secures a win here, as well as against Las Vegas and Denver, it'll be in a fantastic spot. If the team makes it to Halloween with a 5-2 record, it'd be primed to contend for a playoff spot in the NFC.

Although wins in the NFL are hard to come by, going undefeated in October is exactly what the Packers should be striving for right now.
