Packers Draft Grades: Tucker Kraft is a steal in third round

A+. TE. South Dakota State. Tucker Kraft

Note: You can find our grades for the entire Packers' 2023 draft class here.

The Packers made the most of a deep tight end class by doubling down at the position, which they needed to do after losing Robert Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis.

South Dakota State's Tucker Kraft is another outstanding athlete, with a Relative Athletic Score of 9.68 out of 10.

In Kraft's draft profile for NFL.com, Lance Zierlein compared him to Pat Freiermuth.

Zierlein wrote:

"He has the body control and catch toughness to be more than just a traditional Y tight end. Kraft has Day 2 talent and should see the field early with a chance to become a TE1."

Kraft has great size at 6-foot-5, 254 pounds, and athleticism. He can also block.

The Packers desperately needed to add multiple tight ends in the draft. We assumed that could mean a second-rounder paired with a later-round prospect. Instead, Green Bay has landed two of the best tight ends in a deep class. Together, Kraft and Musgrave can form an excellent duo.

Along with the young talent the Packers have at wide receiver, this is an ascending receiving corps with sky-high upside.

Getting Kraft in the third round is a steal for the Packers, and he can be a star in this offense.
