The Green Bay Packers' 2023 draft class could be great, but who was their best selection?

The Green Bay Packers' draft class has deservedly been met with glowing reviews. GM Brian Gutekunst did a fantastic job of adding talent to the roster and upgrading at positions of need.

A focus was placed on offense, with seven of the Packers' 13 picks going on helping Jordan Love. The Packers used five selections on defense and one on special teams.

Where did the Packers get it right? Where could they have done better?

Before they play a snap in the NFL, we don't know who will be the star of the draft class. However, it's time for our way-too-early rankings.

13. Sean Clifford, QB

The Packers needed a backup quarterback, but many were surprised to hear Sean Clifford's name as early as the fifth round. After hosting Clifford for a pre-draft visit, it seemed realistic they might select him in the seventh round or as a priority free agent.

Did the Packers panic a little? Five quarterbacks were selected in the time between their previous pick in the fourth round and hitting the clock in the fifth.

"Clifford never looked like an NFL quarterback to me," wrote Eric Edholm of NFL.com.

Clifford feels like the perfect No. 3 quarterback to have in the room. He is a smart player who has plenty to offer, but he might not be ready to back up Jordan Love.
