Packers fans can laugh as Caleb Williams is already making promises he can't keep

Come on, rook.

The Green Bay Packers won't get the chance to face off against their old rival for quite some time, but the Chicago Bears have definitely provided the team and fan base some comedic relief over the course of the season's first two weeks.

With their first matchup against Chicago in Week 11, Green Bay has a while before they get a taste of rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. If he plays anything like he has over the Bears' first two games, though, there shouldn't be much for the Packers to worry about.

Granted, it is only two games and Williams will realistically improve over time -- at least, that's the general consensus for most folks.

Still, what he's put on tape to begin his career has not exactly screamed "Hall of Fame."

For that matter, neither have some of his comments to the media.

In his most recent outing on Sunday Night Football against the Houston Texans, Williams made a pair of errant throws which turned into fairly easy interceptions for the defense. He ended the night on a rough note after getting sacked seven times as well.

Wednesday, Williams spoke to the media and was asked about those two decisions he made against Houston.

His answer is one we could pick apart for hours, to be quite frank.

“Obviously I had the two stupid mistakes that won’t happen again,” the rookie said of his two interceptions this past Sunday night.

Wait, huh?

What exactly is Williams trying to say, here? Is he insinuating that he's never going to throw another interception? Because that's not just laughable and unrealistic, it is straight-up buffoonery.

Does he mean he's not going to throw interceptions in those two particular scenarios again? On said play calls? In Houston? On prime time?

Insert the old Jim Halpert "WHAT IS GOING ON" gif, here.

Caleb, news flash, my friend: you're going to throw plenty more interceptions over your career and, if you're anything like your predecessors, that number will inflate the more you have the privilege of playing against Green Bay.

The Bears have quarterback questions while the Packers could be getting quarterback answers very soon

While Williams is trying to grow and figure things out as a rookie, the Packers are hoping to get their starter back under center sooner rather than later.

Jordan Love, of course, suffered an MCL injury during Week 1 against Philadelphia. It seemed as though he could have been out for a whole lot longer, but Love surprisingly returned to practice on Wednesday afternoon.

Now, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll suit up for Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans -- nor does he need to -- but it's a positive update in terms of the Packers' outlook going forward.

In Week 4, Green Bay gets to start their NFC North action by taking on the Minnesota Vikings who currently sit at 2-0 after a shocking victory over the San Francisco 49ers. If Love is able to return by then, it would make for quite the week of storylines.
